Wheelchair Lift Update

In an effort to expand our accessibility efforts, Studio 23/The Arts Center is updating (and upgrading!) our current wheelchair lift. Our lift travels from our first to our second floor to help students reach our Clay Room and Flex Space. We want to ensure that our students feel safe and secure when using the lift, and it is in desperate need of updating.

Like most things, the cost of this project was more than we anticipated – nearly $80,000 for the new lift and the construction needed to accommodate the new lift.

With our Access•ABILITY exhibit launching in April 2025, we are looking to YOU, our supporters, to help us to raise the extra funds needed in order to make this update happen.

Our goal is $20,000 – will you help us?

Planned Giving

Do you love the arts in our region and want to make a lasting impact? Planned giving is a wonderful way to ensure that your passion for the arts continues to thrive for future generations. Your planned gift will help us continue to bring the arts to our community and beyond.

Long term gift planning can provide benefits like financial and tax advantages while also making an impact on our community’s creative energy. Naming Studio 23/The Arts Center as a beneficiary in your estate plan can make a lasting impact on our future without impacting your finances today.

If you have questions, please email Meg Koch at executive.director@studio23baycity.org or call Studio 23/The Arts Center at 989-894-2323. Thank you for considering a gift that will make a difference in our organization’s future

“We switched to homeschooling our children a few years ago. I like to find in-person enrichment that incorporates our kid’s interests while staying within a tight budget. Last winter, I was excited to learn about the Homeschool Art for Teens classes that Studio 23 provides and the available scholarships. Without the scholarships, our daughter would not be able to attend. She has enjoyed the classes, learning different mediums, expanding on others, and meeting other students her age who are also highly interested in art. The classes offer her an outlet and help enrich her love of art. Additionally, earning the scholarships has been a boost of confidence. We are very thankful for Studio 23, the staff, and the donors who make the scholarships possible.” Ellen & Adele Weinecke

“I’m Emily Rivard and I grew up locally. Studio 23 is a gallery I always had my eye on but I didn’t have an understanding of how welcoming and inclusive they were until my husband encouraged me to wander in.

I was met with positivity and encouragement. Studio 23 has connected me with several opportunities that have successfully gotten my name out there and also connected me with frequent collectors of my work. I would say their part in my career as an artist has been life changing and I’m forever grateful.” Emily Rivard
